Jets Quarterback Geno Smith to Appear at Chester Gym’s Grand Opening

'Open House' session will allow prospective members to try fitness center for free.

After months and months of construction and finishing touches, NitroFlex Fitness Gym in Chester opened its doors on the final weekend of May.

But owner and Chester resident Steve Tylee promised a grand opening would be on the horizon, and it would be special.

Tylee is making good on that promise, and will hold an “Open House” on Saturday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone who visits that day can try out the facility’s equipment for free.

Tylee, an athlete and former competitive bodybuilder – and three-time Mr. England, along with Mr. Universe finalist – knows all about star power as well. That’s why he’s bringing in New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith from noon to 2 p.m., who will be on hand for photos and to meet with fans. A grand prize raffles will also be held, with prizes including a signed #7 Jets jersey, signed helmet and signed football.

This is Tylee’s second fitness center in Morris County. Nitro Fit Gym in Cedar Knolls opened more than six years ago. The Chester location now occupies the space that formerly held Clearview Cinemas and a Tae Kwon Do facility.

The fitness center offers more than 50 classes per week to go along with a wide open free-weight area, cardio section, CrossFit-style workout area with 36-bar jungle gym, spin room, two massage rooms, a mezzanine, childcare center and mens and women's locker rooms.
