Jets' Geno Smith Gets Pumped Up at Chester Fitness Center

NitroFlex Fitness Center holds open house, meet and greet with with NFL quarterback.

Steve Tylee does things big, but one shouldn't expect much less from a three-time Mr. England and third-place finisher in the Mr. Universe bodybuilding competition.

Tylee, owner of Chester's recently opened NitroFlex Fitness Center, said he wanted to make the business's opening grand, and he did just that on Saturday.

With a throng of fitness buffs and New York Jets fans alike piled 40 yards deep around the building, NitroFlex opened its doors for locals to try the gym – at no cost – and meet New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith.

Fans donning Jets jerseys, including ones with Smith's name across the shoulders, waited for up to 30 minutes before getting the chance to shake the quarterback's hand and have a complimentary photo taken.

"[The gym] is very modern," Smith said between smiles and high-fives with fans. "The locker rooms are very modern, it's a really nice facility. I'd definitely recommend it to my teammates."

Smith and Tylee, who share a love of fitness, albeit for different purposes, considered the possibility of training together in the future.

"I've invited Geno to work out with me here at the gym," Tylee said, as potential clients weaved in and out of the fitness equipment. "I'd love to show him around a little bit more."

The gym, which opened May 31, now occupies the space once held by the Chester Cinema and former Tae Kwon Do dojo. Tylee reconstructed both vacant lots and created a center with everything from cardio equipment to spin cycle and hot yoga rooms to five-star locker rooms.
