Addition By Subtraction: Panera to Serve Additive-Free Food Only
National franchise chain looks to clear junk from food by end of 2016.
Panera Bread, the nationwide franchise known for its fast yet casual dining options, is planning on taking a radical step in the food it serves.
According to usatoday.com, the restaurant is looking to remove any and all additives from its food by the end of 2016. What does that mean, exactly? No artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners and preservatives in any of its food items, the report said.
Beverages will also be a focus, the report said, as Panera is working to remove high-fructose corn syrup from its drinks.

With 1,800 restaurants across the country, Panera has seven locations in the Morris County area, including Succasunna; Mt. Olive; Morristown; Denville; Rockaway; Hackettstown; and Sparta.
