'Mendies' Announces Four Nominees for Hall of Fame Honors

Seventh annual event will be held Friday, March 7.

The Mendhams are proud towns that are home to extraordinary people who’ve accomplished great, great feats in their lives.

And that’s why the Mendies were created: to honor those residents.

The seventh annual event celebrating the borough and township by inducting notable residents into the Mendham Hall of Fame will take place Friday, March 7, and tickets are now available.

A list of three residents and the first-ever organization have been nominated for induction into the hall of fame, and all will be honored at the gala.

This year’s class includes former Mendham Borough school board president and Somerset Hills Bank CEO Stew McClure; former township committeeman and long-time bank executive Bob Pierson; and long-time Brookside Church organist, volunteer and middle school administrator Judy Herndon.

Also on the list, and for the first time in Mendies history, an entire organization will be honored. The Pastime Club, which has provided support of youth athletics and organized the Mendham Labor Day Weekend Carnival will be inducted into the hall of fame.

The Mendies are sponsored by Mendham TV and will feature a red carpet walk, an awards ceremony, buffet dinner, adult beverages and live entertainment. A silent auction will also take place.

Tickets for the event are $40 in advance or $50 after March 1. Tickets can be purchased through Mendham TV board members, participating sponsors, Sinzer Farmer’s Agency, Lakeland Bank, Provident Bank or at Brookside Post Office.
