Local Choristers Sing With Legendary Irish Group at NYC's Town Hall

Mendham, Chester, and Flanders performers from New Jersey Youth Chorus asked to perform after Super Bowl appearance.

Who says the Super Bowl is just about the game?

Thanks to a stellar performance by members of the New Jersey Youth Chorus who accompanied Queen Latifah in the pregame show, the choristers have been in high demand.

Members of the group, including four from the Mendham and Chester area, spent Saturday night singing alongside six-time Grammy winners The Chieftans at Town Hall in New York City.

The four local members were Eileen Doyle-Samay of Chester, Julia Kornick of Mendham, Kellianne Kornick of Mendham, and Bridget Hoke of Flanders.

The Chieftans are best known for their traditional Irish music and have been performing for more than 50 years.

New Jersey Youth Chorus was founded in 1992 and is an auditioned choral program for singers in grades one through 12. Current participants come from 40 towns in six different counties.
