Chester Twp. Model Pairs With Spin Doctor to Release First Song

Olivia DeMattio records first studio song after serving former '90s band guitarist at Chester coffee shop.

Being in the right place at the right time can lead to stardom.

Chester Township native and fashion model Olivia DeMattio is experiencing that first hand.

The 21-year-old who is classically trained in piano and has “been singing since birth” says she always knew she was meant to sing and perform.

So she does, and posts the songs she sings onto her YouTube channel for the world to see. That’s when she’s not holding down her morning job, of course.

That part-time employment is at El Monte coffee roasters in Chester Borough, where one day she began speaking with Anthony Krizan, the former guitarist for the Spin Doctors and current Sonic Boom recording studio owner in Raritan. The two hit it off and Krizan went on his way with a hot cup of joe and a new YouTube channel to check out.

Just a week later the pair were working together inside Sonic Boom and recording DeMattio’s first professional song, Praying for Rain.

Released on March 9, the song is now on iTunes and can be purchased for $0.99 by clicking here. Currently there’s no full-length album, just the single, DeMattio said.

“I hope to record a full album eventually, but for now I’m so excited I’ve even made it to this point and to be selling professional music on iTunes and Amazon at just 21-years-old,” DeMattio said.

The song has already led to DeMattio being requested for fundraisers and shows.

So many success stories begin in coffee shops. The next one is already in the works.
