Beginning on Valentine’s Day, the Chester Theatre Group will present "I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change" with book & lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts. The show is directed by Chris Mortenson with musical direction by Tom Rodgers and is produced by Roseann Ruggiero.
The production will open (fittingly) on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, Feb. 14, and run for 9 performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. through March 3 with matinees on Sundays, Feb. 24 and March 3 at 2 p.m.
The theater is located on the corners of Grove Street and Maple Avenue in Chester.
The show was a long-running off-Broadway standard that examines the trials faced daily the search for love and the tribulations which occur in the efforts to maintain those relationships. Newcomers to the Chester Theatre Group stage Thom Boyer of Somerville, David Starczewski of Teaneck, and Esteban Vazquez of Morristown bring the male perspective while Chester stage veterans Jill Cappuccino of Oldwick, Claudia Metz of Boonton, and Ericka Traugh of Millburn handle the distaff side.
Through sketches and songs, these six talented actor/singers will share everything the audience has secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, wives, husbands and in-laws but were afraid to admit.
