Chester Teen Dances Into Role for Upcoming 'Annie' Film

Black River Middle School seventh-grader adds film spot to decorated career.

One Chester resident’s star just keeps getting brighter.

As if a six-month national tour with the Broadway show Billy Elliot wasn’t enough, Jessica King, a student at Black River Middle School, just wrapped up her scene in the upcoming feature film remake of Annie.

King was cast as a dancer in the final scene of the film, where she filmed on location in New York City. The movie stars Quvenzhane Wallis and Jamie Foxx, as well as Cameron Diaz and Rose Byrne.

In the trailer video which can be seen above, King can be spotted dancing to the left of Wallis at the 1:50 mark.

The young dancer was able to work with Zach Woodlee – admittedly her favorite part of the filming – who choreographs and co-produces for FOX’s GLEE.

King performed at the YouTube Video Music Awards with Arcade Fire last November as well.

When she’s not strutting her stuff on stage or on screen, King enjoys being with her friends, in school, and spending what’s left of her free time at Art of Dance in Chester.
