Chester Crowns Favorite Frosty

Gianni Gambino's snowman wins Chester Recreation's contest.

The blizzard that began February may have caused anxiety on the roads, but Chester Recreation turned Mother Nature's fury into a challenge for residents to build the best snowman.

“The children of Chester went right to work creating their special snow person, and submitted a photo of their best work to enter into the contest” said Maxine Finney, Recreation Director for Chester Borough and Chester Township.

Chester Recreation, who hosts the program every year, had a new format and a new sponsor for the program.

"We had several wonderful entries for the contest and the Chester community was able to participate in the voting new to this year as the photos were posted on the Chester Borough Facebook site for all to appreciate," Finney said. "This year's sponsor of the contest was Yophoric of Chester."

Yophoric donated a $25 gift certificate as the first prize which is awarded to the winner with the most “likes” on facebook as per the contest rules.
