Hurricane Arthur Bumps Brookside Parade to Saturday

Event's itinerary and times won't change for new day.

The annual Brookside Parade to celebrate Independence Day in Mendham Township is being bumped a day later due to hurricane moving up the east coast.

Parade coordinator Buzzy Thomas announced the decision around noon Thursday. The parade and surrounding events will maintain the same times and offerings, which include breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by the parade at 9 a.m.

A picnic lunch at the Brookside Community Club will kick off at 11 a.m. and includes a clown balloonist, dunking booth, pie-eating contest, pony rides, moon bounce and more.
