Daytop in Mendham Expands to Help Women Recover From Drug Abuse

Drug treatment facility merges with Crawford House in Skillman, New Jersey to create halfway house program.

Daytop New Jersey, based in Mendham, announced it has merged with Crawford House to further help residents addicted to drugs transition to sobriety and recovery.

In a statement released jointly by both organizations, the announcement was made for the Mendham-based facility to merge with Crawford House, located in Skillman, New Jersey, and would provide a “diversification of services providing women with another level of care.”

Crawford House was established more than 30 years ago and designed to help women “learn healthy behaviors, achieve active employment and build sober support systems so that they can become productive members of society; a mission compatible with that of Daytop New Jersey.”

The facility will be named Daytop New Jersey at Crawford House, which will offer a comprehensive and highly individualized six-month halfway house program, the statement said.

“This strategic alliance creates a foundation for the new organization to provide drug and alcohol treatment to many individuals at a time when drug abuse, especially heroin, is at epidemic stages, destroying individuals, families and communities throughout New Jersey,” said Daytop president and CEO James Curtin.
