Sandy Debris Collected Behind Chester Boro Offices

Chester Borough residents now have another location to drop off debris in the wake of Superstorm Sandy.

According to Chester Borough Mayor Bob Davis, the Borough has received DEP approval to accumulate storm related vegetation debris on site at the Municipal Complex at 50 North Road in Chester.

"In order to expedite debris removal we have decided to allow residents to bring all storm related debris to the site behind our offices where we have started to accumulate other debris," Davis said. 

According to Davis, the decision was made in preparation for the upcoming winter. 

"We are doing this so we can more quickly clear borough roads prior to snowfall," Davis said. 

Despite the new drop-off site, Davis said the Borough DPW will continue to work on clearing until snowfall diverts their efforts.

Residents are reminded to note the size of the trees, limbs, etc. cannot exceed six feet in length. There is no diameter limitation (please no massive trees). No root balls, stones, dirt nor leaves will be accepted.

Residents can drop off vegetation debris during daylight hours, seven days per week, Davis said.
