Changing of the Guard at Mendham-Chester Patch

Nothing's changing except some contact information; your favorite local news site will still provide the best coverage around.

Since Mendham-Chester Patch jumped on the Internet scene in January 2012, editor Russ Crespolini has done nothing but provide top-notch reporting and communication with the four towns he covered.

And I hope to do the same.

Think about when your favorite snack food changes its logo or overall look. What’s the first thing the company says? “Brand New Look, Same Great Taste!”

Well, this is sort of like that.

Patch has undergone some restructuring. With those changes come some new (yet still old) faces. Jason Koestenblatt will officially be the editor of Mendham-Chester Patch, beginning during the final week of August.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, Jason! Where’s our intrepid and beloved editor Russ Crespolini going?

Russ, the ultimate team player, will now take over our county seat and manage the Morristown and Morris Township Patch sites. With the in-roads he’s made in these four wonderful communities, there’s no question he’ll still be around to visit, speak or catch up with these wonderful residents.

I’ve been fortunate to have lived in the area for more than 20 years and have covered the West Morris Regional Board of Education and meetings of the area’s mayors extensively for more than three years as the editor of Long Valley Patch; I will also remain in that capacity.

I know the area well, but it will be you, the readers and residents, who can help me learn it better.

I’m looking forward to working with you all to provide the best news coverage possible for the Mendhams and Chesters. Please, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at jason.koestenblatt@patch.com or 908-310-6898.

Thank you so much and I look forward to working with all of you soon.
