Education for Ministry (EFM) is one of the finest programs in the church for spiritual seekers.  It provides participants with a community to study and reflect on the Scriptures and Traditions of the Christian Faith. 

The program will meet on Mondays weekly from January to December (with a break in the summer) for two hours in a seminar format.  It will cover the Old Testament in 2013.  It continues for another three years covering the New Testament, Church History, and current theological issues.  You can commit to one year at a time.  There is a cost for program materials.

The weekly seminar is divided into two parts:  A review of the reading for the week and a guided theological reflection, which is a thought-provoking group exercise that looks at  issues of interest to the group members from the personal to the global, all focused on our lives as practicing Christians.

The program is Episcopalian in its roots, but ecumenical in its perspective, and it is open to anyone who is interested, regardless of faith tradition.  You can find out more at the program's website www.sewanee.edu/EFM/index.htm.
