We were very excited when The Bakery opened back in 2011 in the small strip mall on Route 24 where the old hardware store had been located. Unfortunately, they closed fairly soon after they opened. 

We'd given up hope that another bakery would open at that location, but lo and behold, around Thanksgiving 2012, a new The Bakery opened in the same spot. 

We think they're really good.  Delicious and beautiful cookies, bread (so far we've had only their white bread but the rye and pumpernickels looks wonderful), and other baked goods. 

I hope people realize they're there and give them a try, as it would be lovely to have a new and good bakery here in Chester.
