Morris Habitat for Humanity Seeking Low-Income Homebuyers

Morris Habitat for Humanity is seeking low income applicants for two 2-bedroom homes to be built, duplex style, in Dover, NJ.  The homes will be sold for approximately $125,000.  Ownership includes membership in Homeowner Association which requires an additional monthly maintenance fee.

The minimum income to participate in the Habitat program is $25,000 annually.  The maximum income limit ranges from $35,766 to $44,707 and is based on the number of occupants.  Minimum occupancy is two people and maximum occupancy is 4 people.

Applicants will be evaluated based on their income level, credit score of 600 or better, debt to income ratio of 40% or lower, among other criteria. Qualified applicants will be assigned a number and the home owner will be selected via lottery. 

In order to submit an application, attendance at an orientation session is mandatory. Applications will only be available at the orientation meetings.

The orientation dates are:      

Thursday, May 31 at 7:00PM

Wednesday June 6 at 7:00PM

Saturday June 9 at 10:00AM

The orientations will be held at the offices of Morris Habitat for Humanity, 274 South Salem Street, Randolph, NJ. All sessions will be presented in English and Spanish. Please call 973-891-1934 or email info@morrishabitat.org to register to attend an orientation. 

 The deadline for submission of complete application packets to the Morris Habitat office location is June 22, 2012.  A $20.00 processing fee in cash or money order must accompany the application. No personal checks are accepted.
