Goldblatt Competition Hosts Free Concert at Delbarton School on May 6

Winners of the 30th Annual Sophie and Norman Goldblatt Scholarship Competition, held at Delbarton School in Morristown on March 31, 2012, will perform in a free concert at the School's Fine Arts Center Theater on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 5 :00 pm. This year's competition was for piano students. (Next year the Goldblatt focuses on string players.)

The Goldblatt Scholarship Competition promotes excellence in music teaching, learning, and performance for pianist and string players and encourages young musical talent in New Jersey. Judges are drawn from the ranks of the area's finest professional concert artists, orchestral players and teachers.

Crucial as the competition is, however, performance experience is even more important: The program allows the winners to test their mettle before an audience of music lovers at the May 6th event in the Fine Arts Center. All are invited to attend this free concert that showcases the area's most talented young pianists. This May 6th event is the perfect event to entertain and inspire young musicians and their families.

If you have any questions, contact Goldblatt Competition organizer Carole Bradley at 973-663-2639. Stay tuned for next year's competition which will identify the area's finest string players.

Delbarton School is located at 230 Mendham Road in Morristown, three miles west of the Morristown Green.
