Volunteers Give Daytop of Mendham a Makeover

As part of the Novartis Group's annual Community Partnership Day, a group of nearly 20 employees spent a workday at Daytop giving a facelift to the family fun room.

They traded in their swipe cards and labcoats for paint brushes and workgloves.

Pharmaceutical division employees from Novartis spent the day at Daytop, volunteering their time to improve the facility.

The employees spent the day refurbishing Daytop’s family fun room by painting the area and laying down new carpet tile. Their work will help provide a recreational home environment for the facility’s teen residents. Daytop New Jersey delivers a comprehensive substance abuse treatment and education program to male and female adolescents.

The volunteers on the team were among more than 1,600 associates from the Novartis Group (including Novartis Corporation, Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, Novartis Consumer Health, Inc., and Sandoz, Inc.) who provided hands-on support that benefited nearly 100 nonprofit agencies throughout New Jersey. Community Partnership Day is a global initiative within the Novartis Group that reaffirms the company’s commitment to social responsibility and offers opportunities for associates to give something back to the communities where they live and work.

“Through this collaboration with outstanding nonprofit partners we can share our resources with the communities where we live and work, provide employees with meaningful opportunities to give back, and make a positive, long-lasting difference in people’s lives,” said Kevin Rigby, Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
