This week we want to know what should go in this space.
Also, we would like to know what the heck is currently in this space! Seriously is it a telephone pole garden?
But this seems like some prime location near the new municipal complex in Chester Borough. What would you like to see there?

Nothing should go here. It is part of Telcordia that was purchased with Open Space money, therefore is not able to be developed. FYI - the whole property is very historical in many ways. There are some that say it was part of the Manhattan Project. Bell Labs owned both the Borough and Township side (it was divided up into Telcordia and Lucent). There were many interesting things there - a building where they used to test things against earthquakes and lightening, a bunker, a "bubble building. People who lived across the street (and some who still do) will tell you of their lights dimming every once in a while never really knowing what was being tested across the street. Under a lot of the fields were miles of wires and cables that were being tested. The poles are indeed telephone poles that were being tested against weathering, etc. I believe it is the township's view that they will stay the way they are.

When I was a kid, the place always fascinated me. I couldn't resist throwing it up there to see what answers I would get. Curiouser and curiouser.

Nothing - the "telephone pole farm" should remain as is. I consider this space to be one of those oddities that adds a peculiar charm to Chester. In this instance, to remove the oddity would be to decrease the charm.

No argument there. There should be a WEIRD NEW JERSEY marker out from with the post Jacki just wrote in front of it.

And please notice that the Chester Garden Club has planted a lovely swath of daffodils to dress it up!

Absolutely nothing should be "done with it" !! Why does everything have to have something "done (to) it ". It's iconic. It's a science experiment. It's art !!

VSV, relax! Nothing "has to be" done. This is just a fun post we put up from time to time to start a conversation, share some ideas...be creative. Fun!

It's where telephone poles grow! We have to leave it there, or we won't have any more telephone poles! {:O)

How about a zip line?
Re. the telephone poles - seems like there should be some cool kid games to play amongst them - some variant of tag - hide-and-seek - capture the flag......
