We were surprised and disappointed to lose power this afternoon at a time there were no storms in the area. We did get a rain storm later on but nothing that would cause power loss. I am wondering where the damage was reported and why we were without power for almost 3 hours - the center of town (1/2 mile away) was restored in 1 hour or less.

I did put in a call to find out specifics for your situation but I do know from my dealings with the power company in the past that the way in which we are connected is sometimes not obvious and counterintuitive. It is very possible you were without power because they needed to take you offline to repair a line farther down the pike where the storm hit harder and there was more damage.
I know it is a frustrating issue and I will let you know if I turn up anything for you.
