I work in the so brunswick area, where there are alot of warehouses with alot of big trucks. I have always said (6years) that Raymour & Flannagan have the WORST truck drivers. Not enough trainning or cheap pay & lack of experience. I don't know but I am not surprised. My sympathies to the family.

I live in front of where he was hit. Route 10 isn't a major highway, there are homes and stores and businesses on both sides

Where was the kid when he was walking? Was he by a cross walk? Was he not by a cross walk? I feel terrible that this happened but we don't know all the facts. Kim do you know for sure the driver was texting and speeding?

Kim you're calling the driver the victim? You're coming off as a pretentious one who scoffs at and spits at other generations. Humble up and have some sympathy for Brian and his family.

It's terrible what happened, but there is more to the story which will be released to the public soon. There were witnesses on the scene that saw the entire incident happen. I agree the R&F truck drivers drive fast on 10, but this time there was no way for the driver to react in time.

No I, calling Brian the victim, there was an earlier comment by someone who deleted their comment that was saying it was Brian's fault for walking on a so called highway so I really resent the pretentious comment. I was up close and saw brian covered so I have the upmost deepest sympathy for his family

I feel bad for Mr. Smith. I attend CCM and know a lot of his friends. It's a shame for an 18 year old to be killed. However, regardless of whose fault it is, both sides will have trauma for the rest of their lives. I hope Mr. Smith wasn't doing anything stupid on Route 10.. People fly down that hill... But regardless folks.. Use a cross-walk at ALL times which A LOT of people seem to forget in this state..

I do not know anyone involved but this is a terrible tragedy for the victim who was kliled and his family I send prayers to them that they find peace...also for the driver who I am sure had no intention of killing a perosn and now must I've with this for the rest of his life. I could not imagine being responsible or taking the life of another person.just a horrible accident

Blah Blah Blah, The kid shouldnt have been walking on the side of the highway where there is no sidewalk to walk, Raymour & Flannagan trucks do go fast, ummm the speed limit which is 50 on Rt.10. Any thing that gets in the way of a box truck is meat. Even @ 20MPH. Wait till the report comes out. My condolences goes to the family. Also Suburban Furniture is a worse company with a horrible driving record and I know also that the Suburban Furniture Drivers HAVE NO LICENCE and are driving!! I know cause I know all the drivers and workers there!!! Raymour & Flannagan train their drivers in house and dont hire outside contractors unlike Suburban Furniture. ALSO keep eye out for Suburban Furniture Van, the person that drives it, drives under the influence of alcohol and the owenrs of Suburban Furniture DONT CARE.

Let me start by saying that I am deeply sorry for the young man and his family for all that has happened. But you should not put blame on the driver cause no one knows the facts. Is the police not only looking at what the driver may or may not have been doing but also look into what the young man was doing. And I think you know exactly what I mean. And the driver is now going to go through his grief so let him be. And let the family be. I shouldnt be writing this cause I hate gossip but its horrible that people are allowed to comment on such tragedies. This should not be allowed. Let people be!!!! Think what if you were the driver or the young man or his family. Shame on all of you.

Its a sad tradgedy for everyone involved. However all witnesses involved all have said he jumped in front of the truck. Also prior to that he jumped in front of a car but missed. The truck driver is at no fault for this. they are both victims along with his family. I wish that someone was able to help him before he made a decision to take his own life.

This was a suicide! He was very selfish to have done this to an innocent driver! Now he has to love the rest of his life knowing he killed some one!

Nameless- I think it is very inappropriate to use information from a public official and post it on a public forum. This is a tragedy all around and even if it was a suicide, we don't know any of the circumstances. Its not our place to vilify anyone.

I wish more information was being released publicly - and the comments relative to a suicide, well, IF that is true, that is what my initial thought may have been. That area of the roadway is open and if he was walking in the road (accidentally), vehicle could have had time to see him. Unfortunately, the little that has been revealed, does make it appear that way - i hope additional information is released shortly to put any gossip to rest.... remember people, until such time as an official report is released, both Brian and the driver are victims. I send my condolences to Brian's family and hope that his death (whatever the cause) was not in vain!! We live in a world where mental illness is everywhere!! Many people cannot get mental help even if they want it due to finances and the ability to be able to afford it! Mental illness needs to be taken more seriously by everyone and help should be afforded to those who need it - you cant compare mental illness to any other!! PS to the individual advising that the Randolph PD has violated confidentiality.... not all investigations are confidential and any and all investigations are considered public record - granted the information many not be released to the public immediately, it IS still considered public record so don't be so hard on Randolph PD! It would be nice for information to be released a little quicker, then you don't need to worry about information being released by others prematurely!

My bother in law works for R&F and they are really good careful drivers , the kid committed suicide, he 1st jumped in front of a car which missed , then he jumped in front of the truck which was right behind the car he jumped in front of. RIP sad story

Bunch of gossipy heartless people. You don't kow anything so don't speculate. Have some compassion and consideration , and mostly important wait for the official version.

Honestly Brian was such an amazing kid, he was so smart and actually wanted to do something good with his life. He was going to be leaving to go to the military on July 3rd. Both the driver and Brian were a victim in this. To sit here and go back and forth whether it was suicide or wreck less driving is pointless. They were both the victim. This is a really sad situation. Prayers go out to both sides

Brian told me that he had a job and was suppose to leave for the marines July 23, and how he said he finally got his life on point .. This is just upsetting . We were really close friends when he went to school with me. :/

@break the silence , brian wasnt leaving "july 3". BRIAN himself told me he was leaving for the marines july 23rd. It was always an option for him -.-
