The training wheels are off! The 90 days probationary period has ended! We are firing on all cylinders!

Mendham-Chester Patch is now three months old!

If we were an infant we'd be coordinating arm and leg movement and developing early language skills! If we were a car we'd be due for a tune up! If we were a season it would be time to change!

So here we are, one quarter of the year down and we want to know from you how you think its going. We've been through a lot together, haven't we?

We began with my welcome letter and video that not only gave you a great run down of how you could use our site but gave you a glimpse not only into the bio of editor Russ Crespolini but through the video showed him still recovering from Bells Palsy on the left side of his face.

We had barely gotten our feet wet when Whitney Houston died, and immediately after that had major fires at Browning Court, a fatal fire on Woodland Road and a grill fire on Deerfield.

We've seen residents take on their government over signage for their business, new stores open and others close. Police merger discussions caused a stir, as did the resignation of a popular superintendent.

In these 12 weeks I've almost been shot following the governor to breakfast and literally pursued an alleged gunman through the woods.

I've created a modern fathers column about what the new generation of Dads do.

But most importantly, I have walked amongst the community and made some amazing new friends.

So tell me, Mendham-Chester, how am I doing so far?

Grade us on the survey and then leave us some comments pointing us i the right direction.

Its been a pleasure launching this this with you all. Now its time to push the jets and explore that vast undiscovered country that lies ahead.

Russ, having local news reported - and published - almost as it is happening is what makes Patch different and relevant. Glad it seems to be workng out, for writers as well as for readers. Glad the BP is behind you! Keep on keeping on.

Oh Alyssa! Thank you! I love getting out there and being a part of these special towns. I so appreciate that. Our Patch really is a collaborative effort between the community and myself.
