Police: Driver Had Pot, Fireworks

A 20-year-old White Plains, NY man was found with pot and fireworks in his vehicle, Mendham Township Police said.
According to police, Sgt. Ross Johnson stopped Benjamin Shannon March 27 for making an abrupt lane change. Police said while approaching the vehicle Johnson and Chief Steve Crawford detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
According to police, Johnson conducted a search of the vehicle with Shannon's consent, and discovered a small amount of suspected marijuana and a small quantity of fireworks inside the vehicle.
Shannon was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of fireworks, and several motor vehicle summonses pending a April 2012 court date.
