Our prayers are with this poor woman and her family. Hope she will be OK. This is the second pedestrian accident in one year on Main Street. Last year a woman was struck crossing in front of the Publick House. You take your life in your had crossing Main Street. Perhaps yield signs in crosswalks would help--not just on weekends in downtown.

My daughter was over near Main Street and the police told her it was an elderly woman, so it does seem likely she may live at CASH. Let's hope she will be okay. You take your life in your hands crossing Main Street. Even if it's not rush hour, cars go flying down that street.

Driving through town on Sunday, a woman and her family walked in front of me without even a glance to see if I would stop. (I did) This goes on all the time. That little brick strip in the street means nothing if you're dead.

Yes prayers for the injured woman as well as the driver are necessary.

Jason, do you have any information about the accident Sunday on Rt 24 near Parker Rd. (in front of the Church of the Messiah) where a gentleman in a van hit a large tree head -on? I have not seen any coverage and wondered if he was alright?

So glad to hear she's alert and conscious. She is in all our thoughts.

Well all I can say is that the cross walks mean nothing to anyone...motorist or pedestrians. You go downtown on any given Sat or Sun and I promise you will have to stop because some "bennie" from out of town just decides to cross where ever they please.sometime step right out from behind parked cars and you can't see them. Personally I think there should be a greater police presance downtown on busy days and start writing some tickets for jaywalking and for motorists who blow thru crosswalks....give that a little time, let word get around....it will stop...Drive thru Peapack? Everyone knows not to speed there or you will get written...Chester can do the same....its the will of the town government to make it so and thus safe for everyone...

I have removed my comments, as the family is not happy that we are inquiring and worried about the injured.
