Mendham Township Police shut down the road in both directions while Brookside Engine Company #1, Mendham Fire Department, New Vernon Fire Department and the Mendham Township First Aid Squad all responded to the call.

The Honda came to a rest off the road and was secured with cross ties while the extraction took place.

Morris County Sheriff's Office assisted in the crash investigation and the driver was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment. 

Due to the patient status of the driver, police would not release his identity.

The road was re-opened by 11:15 a.m..
