No Surprises at Chester Township Reorganization
Jacki Spinelli and Karen Powell sworn in, council president named.
The mentality at Thursday's Chester Township reorganization meeting for 2013 was that if it wasn't broke, there was no need to fix it.With that in mind, the council appointed and confirmed reelected council member Karen Powell as president for the year.
Powell served as president in 2012.
It was a big night for Powell, who also re-upped for a three-year term after winning reelection in November. Powell was joined by Jacki Spinelli who took her own oath for a three-year term, replacing Brian Murphy who chose not to run in a contested election.
According to Chester Township administrator Carol Isemann, councilman Matt Kass made the motion to appoint Powell as president and Dan O'Donnell seconded.
Powell was elected by unanimous vote.
