One Mansfield Township man wants to be a real-life superhero.

So much so the 23-year-old was arrested Tuesday for it, police said.

Matthew Argintar walked around the Mansfield Home Depot's parking lot and asked customers if they needed help, according to a report on lehighvalleylive.com.

While Argintar may have thought he was trying to be a Good Samaritan, his outfit, which included tactical pants, elbow and arm pads and a bulletproof vest was a bit off-putting to the store's customers, the report said.

Argintar was charged with a disorderly persons offense and for possession of handcuffs, the report said.

Argintar was also wearing a Batman mask, the report said. Not particularly good timing after a man in Colorado killed a dozen people at the premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises" two weeks ago. 

Argintar, who said he is an honorably discharged member of the U.S. Army, was "trying to inspire hope because that's what the people need right now: hope," according to lehighvalleylive.com.
