Drunken Driver Crashed Into House, Cops Say
Chester man left roadway and smashed someone's garage door, police report.
A Chester man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after crashing his vehicle into a Coleman Road home early Saturday morning, Washington Township Police Lt. Art Adams said.
Police initially responded to a reported vehicle rollover on the roadway just after midnight Saturday, Adams said, and arrived to find the car had crashed into the garage door of a home on the road.
When police arrived, they found Andrew Dourgarian, 25, standing outside his vehicle uninjured, Adams said. Significant damage to the car and garage door were found by the officers, Adams said.
Dourgarian refused medical attention from the Long Valley First Aid Squad, but was found to be under the influence of alcohol, Adams said.
Dourgarian was taken to police headquarters and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to keep right.
Officers Kirk Griffin and John Wurtemberg, along with Cpl. Robert Oranchak responded to the scene.
