The following information was provided by the Chester Township Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 26-year-old Succusunna woman was taken to the hospital after crashing into a tree on route 206 under the influence of alcohol early this morning, Chester Township Police said.

Sgt. Thomas Williver and Patrolman Ryan Steckel responded to the crash, which occurred just after 12:30 a.m. near Furnace Road, police said.

According to police, Williver and Steckel's investigation showed that Danielle Post had lost control of her 1994 Mercedes Benz, ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

The damage to the vehicle was caused the battery to ignite and smolder, which prompted the arrival of the Chester Volunteer Fire Company #1 to extinguish, police said.

According to police, the Chester First Aid Squad transported Post to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Williver and Steckel issues Post summonses for failure to keep right, reckless driving, and driving under the influence, police said.

According to police, Post was released from custody pending an appearance in Chester Township Municipal Court.

Drunk driving is one of the most selfish acts that a person can intentionally do. She could have hit and killed another person rather then a tree. People - do not drink and drive, not only for others but why would u do that to yourself????

Totally agree thank god she didn't hurt anyone else and only she ended up in the hospital with injuries..maybe she still needs to find herself and I'm sure she will. God forgives and as should we all.
