Cops: Teenagers Injured As Car Overturns

The following information was provided by the Chester Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

A 17-year-old driver and his 15-year old passenger were taken to the hospital after the car they were in left the road, struck a tree and overturned on May 18, Chester Township Police said.

According to police, Patrolman Boris Sanchez responded to a reported crash with injuries off of Fox Chase Road.

Police said the 2005 Jeep containing the Chester teenagers ran off the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep ran off of Fox Chase Road, just north of Runyan Place, and turned on to its left side after striking a tree, police said.

According to police, both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, with prevented serious injuries.

Chester Volunteer First Aid Squad transported the 15-year-old passenger to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said.

According to police, the driver was cited for Careless Driving and has a pending appearance in Chester Township Municipal Court.
