Cops: Drunk Driver Covered in Soup

A 24-year-old Long Valley woman was arrested on May 14 after spilling soup on herself, Mendham Township Police said.
Lt. Vito Abrusci witnessed Julia Pollard fail to keep right on Route 24 near Tingley Road, police said.
According to police, when Abrusci turned his vehicle around to follow the Volkswagen driven by Pollard he found it parked on the side of the road near the Route 24 and Conifer Drive.
Pollard told Abrusci she had stopped because she spilled a container of soup on herself while driving, police said.
Abrusci determined Pollard had been drinking and was under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Pollard was arrested and received summonses for driving under the influence, failure to keep right and reckless driving with a May court date in Mendham Municipal Court.
