A 16-year-old with a learner’s permit was caught driving after hours on April 29, Mendham Township Police sad.

According to police, Patrolman Matthre Ambrosi stopped a vehicle on Route 24 with a damaged tail light. The driver of the vehicle, a minor, was in violation of the conditions of the learner’s oermit as the car was being operated after the approved hours and there was not an experienced passenger in the vehicle with three years of driving experience, police said.

According to police, the driver was cited for violating the permit and a court date was issued.
