Cops: Blown Stop Sign Leads to Arrest
The following is from the Chester Township Police and does not indicate a conviction.
A 20-year-old driver from Flanders and his 21-year-old passenger from Bloomfield were arrested after driving through a stop sign on June 25, Chester Township Police said.
Patrolman Christopher Cavanagh observed a 2006 Red Mazda fail to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Oakdale and Pleasant Hill Road and after stopping the vehicle smelled raw marijuana while speaking with driver Nigel Nimoh, police said.
After a search of the vehicle, Nimoh was issued summonses for possession of under 50 grams of Marijuana, possession/use of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and failure to stop at a stop sign, police said. Passenger, Jonathan Rojas-Contreras, was issued a summons for possession/use of marijuana and both were released pending a court appearance in Chester Township Municipal Court, police said.

Are we serious, two more young people in NJ with the risk of having their lives ruined and becoming unqualified to clean toilets. Thus forced into a life of crime, all over a plant. Hopefully, they have money and connections like the last three presidents to avoid these charges. Its not safe to NOT stop at the stop sign! Especially if you are Latino or African American, Jersey cops bust minorities for non violent drug offenses more than twice that of whites.
