Chester Township Waives Fees in Wake of Sandy
No cost for residents to have repair work inspected.
As life continues to return to normal following Hurricane Sandy, Chester Township is trying to make repairs easier for residents by waiving the cost of inspections on repair work.
The caveat being that the damage being repaired must have been sustained during Sandy.
“Now that people are making repairs to their home we want to ease the burden a bit,” Chester Township Mayor Bill Cogger said. “So we made a unilateral decision to waive the fees for inspection.”
Cogger said he hoped that would promote people to make repairs safely.
“Some people are having electric lines reattached to their homes and other large repairs,” Cogger said. “We want them to have the inspector out and have them make sure the repairs were made correctly. By waiving the fee we hope to encourage that.”

Russ- did the mayor actually say "them home" and "we made a unilateral decision" or are your fingers still defrosting from the last storm :) ?
