Cab Calloway Orchestra to Perfrorm at The Lackland Center
Performance is scheduled for July 14.
The Cab Calloway Orchestra, featuring Chris Calloway-Brooks, the grandson of Cab Calloway, will perform in Hackettstown in July.
The Centenary Stage Company's "Jammin' in July" concert series will continue on July 14 at 8 p.m. at The Lackland Center on the campus of Centenary College in Hackettstown with a performance by the group.
The 12-piece group is led by Calloway-Brooks and the band performs "hot jazz" style music which incorporates swing, Dixieland, blues, rock and roll, rhythm and blues and many other different styles.
Perhaps the most well known Calloway song is "Minnie the Moocher," a song from the Harlem Renaissance and about Harlem.
Tickets for the show are $30 in advance or $35 on the day of the performance. Discounted tickets are available for children 12 years of age or younger.
Tickets are available on the Centenary Stage website or by calling 908-979-0900.
