Multiple Vehicles Burglarized in Chester Borough
Unlocked cars targeted on back-to-back nights on Oakdale Road, police said.
The Chester Borough Police have issued an advisory to residents to lock their car doors and be vigilant as multiple vehicles were burglarized this week on Oakdale Road.
According to the statement by police, the vehicles were struck Tuesday and Wednesday nights between the hours of 9 p.m. and 4 a.m.
The vehicles were parked in the driveways of the residences and multiple items were taken from the vehicles, the police statement said.
Chester Borough Police are asking residents to lock the doors to their homes and their vehicles.
The police statement also asked residents take to remove valuable items from vehicles such as cash, electronics, (cell phones, iPads, iPods, GPS units) as well as wallets/purses.
Burglaries have been the talk of the area of late, with the chiefs meeting on Monday to discuss the string of home invasion burglaries that have been happening in the area.
Earlier this week, Mayor Bob Davis said after speaking with Chester Borough Police Chief Andre Kedrowitsch there was no need to alarm residents.
"There has been plenty of coverage of it," Davis said.
According to police, there appears to be no connection between the car burglaries and the home burglaries. The number of vehicles broken into was not immediately available.
