Accident on 206 Temporarily Diverts Traffic

Two injured in the afternoon crash at the intersection of Fox Chase Road.

An accident at the intersection of route 206 and Fox Chase Road sent two women to the hospital and diverted traffic for an hour just before rush hour on May 22, said.

According to police, Patrolman Hugo Stone responded to the two car accident at approximately 4:23 p.m.

23-year-old Jeannine Driscoll of Bernardsville was attempting to make a left turn on to Route 206 from Fox Chase Road when she crashed her 2011 Jeep into 48-year-old Susan Dean’s 2011 Honda CRV, police said.

Dean, a Hopatcong resident, was traveling in the fast lane when the collision occurred, police said.

According to police, Driscoll was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital and Dean to St. Clare’s in Dover by the Chester First Aid Squad to be checked out for minor injuries.

Route 206 South traffic was diverted down Old Chester Road for about an hour while the accident scene was cleared, police said.

According to police, the cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time.
